My Lord,

I have the honor to enclose an application for Medical Certificate for ten months from Jun Holdforth, Shruff and Assistant Magistrate; and at the same time the Medical Certificate sufficiently proved the necessity for Mr Holdforth's obtaining a change of climate.

I brought the matter before Council, and his leave was granted.

Metoria, Hongkong, 13th April, 1850.
